Commander highlights U.S. goals for space domain.
This week General James Dickinson, Commander of the U.S. Space Command (SPACECOM) expressed the goal of being able to use the domain of space and prevent the enemy from doing so. The general said the Commander’s Vision he outlined is intended “to set the stage for SPACECOM personnel to develop and sustain a warfighting mindset necessary for our mission challenges in this new warfighting domain.”
“The space domain is competitive, congested, and contested. Our competitors, most notably China and Russia, have militarized this domain and that requires us to proactively engage to protect and defend our interests there. That proactive engagement must be on our terms, so that we can operate fully and freely in the domain when, where, and how we need to,” Dickinson said.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for General Dickinson as he heads SPACECOM.
- For the U.S. Space Command as they work to defend U.S. interests in space.
- For all U.S. officials tasked with monitoring, evaluating, and taking action in space.
